Seeing the Great Dane in a site about pets for small homes might really surprise you. Yet, we feel the breed, although especially huge, has a lot to offer small home owners. Simply stated, they are so gentle and lazy, they often do great in smaller spaces, although it can take some getting used to stepping over a dog that takes up a lot of floor space.

The breed is one of the gentlest... to adults and children. Many people that normally would be quite afraid of a large dog sense the friendliness of the great dane, and walk right up to them to pet. They can be quite agressive toward other dogs that challenge their superiority.

A Small Horse?

A great dane will eat much much more compared to most smaller dogs. However, they are so unique, you are sure to make contact with lots of people when walking your small horse. There are a few details about having a great dane around the house that take some getting used to... namely having a dog that looks down on your food while you are eating.
